4.0 out of 5 stars I'm pretty happy with this very affordable bike so far, May 22, 2016

I'm pretty happy with this very affordable bike so far! It had all the elements I was looking for: step-thru frame, fenders, chain guard, a 'comfort' saddle, (but one without springs, which I dislike). I added a simple Greenfield kickstand and removed the chintzy bell. If it weren't for my worry about theft, I'd spring for the Public 7-speed with an internal hub, but the Critical bike is a happy compromise for hundreds of dollars less anxiety! (I also prefer the black tires on this Beaumont model.) The only comparable things in this price range were Schwinns and the like from Big Box stores, and the Critical bike is much more subtle and stylish and also lighter than most of those options. (I weighed my size 44 assembled: 36 pounds) It didn't take long to assemble-- I needed to adjust the position of the brake grips and I may need to do some adjusting on the shift cable, but will wait for it to stretch a bit. The angles and the saddle all feel very comfortable.

I love this bike! It seems to be well made and is very stylish. It took my sister 1.5 hours to assemble...and she's assembled a few bikes in her time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great inexpensive commuter bike, June 6, 2016
Verified Purchase( What's this?)
I love this bike so far! The first one I ordered was reported damaged during shipping to Amazon, but they replaced it and notified me at no cost or trouble to me, other than the couple extra days it took to ship the second one. The bike itself is nice to ride and good-looking, and I'm very happy with the price! It took me about an hour and change to assemble, the instructions were easy enough to follow. The first day I rode it I felt some resistance but was able to adjust the brakes and fixed it easily. I use it to commute and find it easy and comfortable.

Product Description

The Beaumont-7 from Critical Cycles is about to put the competition to rest. Whether you'll commute to work, leisurely stroll through a park, or make your away across campus, the Beaumont-7 is the ultimate bity bike choice. Upgraded componentry marks this bicycle as a most worthwhile competitor. The hand-built, tig-welded, high-tensile strength steel frame is available in both a step-thru style as well as a classic diamond shape. We know what it's like to have control of your ride and to lack control of your ride. Like you, we prefer the former. That's why we've equipped our Beaumont-7 with a Shimano Rear derailleur and RevoShift grip shifter. Not only will you be able to shift gears with precision and speed, but you'll also never have to give up command of your bicycle. A simple twist of the hand while you're in motion allows you to effortlessly change gears, so you can combat hilly and flat city streets equally well. The alloy stem, single piece crankset, and double wall rims elevate this beauty of a bike into a beast of a machine. Stop on a dime with the front and rear alloy brakes. Wanda 700x35C tires will take you everywhere you want to go with dependability and power. We've also included a steel rack on the back of this bike, so you can bring your stuff with you as you travel from A to B to Z and back again.
